I think the majority of people are just trying and existing and being flawed humans and doing our best.
He’s had a string of personal tragedies he has had to overcome - who in this world hasn’t? And why would we ever take advice from people who haven’t been there and pulled themselves out of the muck? They are the ones who know how to do it. They are the ones capable of offering the benefit of true, lived experience.
His paychecks come from people whose opinions he must mirror to some extent in order to keep his work. The majority of people in the world face that same situation, and it is less than ideal. It’s better not to have that situation or to find a way out of it, but not everyone can. Maybe someday he will figure it out and impart that wisdom upon his followers as well.
His overall message is a net positive. I often enjoy hearing what he has to say and a great many people credit him with pulling them out of some very dark places in their lives.
Personally, I’m gonna go on and give this guy a pass.
I may not always agree with him, but I would challenge anyone in this world to find even one flesh and blood person with whom they always agree 100% of the time. My own opinion: I don’t believe it’s possible to do that. And how boring would a completely homogeneous world like that be anyway?
