I wasn’t aware until the other day that Elon musk supposedly built over 600 miles of tunnels under Las Vegas making it possible to zip around the city as fast as possible.
His new boring machine Elon Musk digs tunnels and melts the rock into the sides, ceiling and floor of the tunnel so that they don't have to come in with gunite or some other cement strengthening. It all happens at one time, as the powerful lasers cut the tubular hole melting the rock into the sides and ceiling and floor of the tunnel. It's all super strong and super safe once it's completed.
Here is my question? Is this old technology put to new use? Or were the tunnels already there? There’s a star fort near Las Vegas.
When I lived there in the 80s underground nuclear testing was still happening. One would go off and our entire house and windows would shake like an earthquake. It makes me wonder what they were really doing down there? Were they really testing nuclear weapons?
