I love scholars, and scholarly debate, because they show so clearly the tunnel vision aspect of human cognition. Youtubers on the other hand, often just inspire headaches.
I honestly roll my eyes at the stuff on the web concerning Gnosticism.
Rather than cite a litany of grievances, I'd like to pose a question. If Baseball was codified in a number of obscure references to Cricket, and these references were written in an American English, not the King's English, would everyone on this planet ignore the language, and invent stories about how Baseball was some cultic form of Cricket?
My suspicion is that the baseball cult would inspire scholarly speculation, wild eyed chicks on youtube, and institutionalized religiou outrage.
