I adore the “I” in TEAM meme. Discovery of the A hole where it was hiding was perfect.

These are all great. I especially love the one by C.S. Lewis: “For broken dreams, the cure is dream again; and deeper.” I can attest to this—being cancelled for wrongthink in '21-'22 yielded 2 years of darkness, but “dreaming deeper” ultimately gave way to a massive, radical reimagining of my career. I've never had this big a fire under my ass. Dream deeper indeed... if you dare! ✨🔥✨

I'm going to pose this as a question, rather than a statement, as such, anyone who might read this is free to disregard the question if it is too threatening.

First, let us establish that no person can know everything, at least in an actionable way.

Second, everyone is only allowed to see the free will vs determinism argument as polar opposites, with free will getting the enthusiastic nod.

Third, no true example of evolution has ever been discovered. Yes, here's looking at you, algae!

So, on what basis does one claim that one's life is orchestrated, ordered, or destined given these current beliefs?

I'm genuinely curious how one reconciles the obvious contradiction.

Don't ask me. I can't see "the obvious contradiction" you are referencing.

It is a matter of world view, Greg.

Literally everyone I talk-or type to is convinced we have total free will. If everything is in this condition, then there really is no such thing as fate, or planned occurrance.

Why?

Because under complete and total free will, any guided action, even those that might be divinely guided, remove choice. What is free will if not choice? So guided acts cannot be acts of free will.

Therefore, if we really do exercise total free will, there can only be complete choice, period.

Again, in total free will, any impingement on choice turns free will into a determined state, which is not free will.

So, how can the believer in free will also believe that life is guided?

I have never been able personally to reconcile the two.

Ok. I guess my answer is that "My Life" is the result of "My choices". No one but "Me" makes the decisions. "I" take full responsibility. As a shard of God Consciousness, I bring a unique perspective to the ever expanding "All That Is". I am "guided" every moment by my interacting with this apparent universe I find myself in. But the choices are "mine". Beyond that, I don't give two shits about parsing words like we are doing a parlor game. And I don't mean to be rude. Cheers!

You can be rude, I don't care, actually.

I notice that people tend to get rude and pissed because the truth is they can't answer the fucking question.

So, since I'm just playing at words, according to you, it shouldn't really matter, should it? So why does it bother the interpreters of the universe so much that they go off?

Maybe they don't know as much as they think they do?

Anyhow, I'm done putting you all on the spot, I'll just say this much in closing. Its not my statement, but I like it...

THE UNEXAMINED LIFE ISNT WORTH LIVING

It was a "fucking question", and I did answer it. And I wasn't rude. Bye!

No you didn't answer the question. You simply stated that you have free will and you are also guided. This just restates the fucking question. Restating the fucking question isnt answering the fucking question.

Lets make it simple.

You have a big bowl of your favourite ice cream.

You also have a giant goddam mug of your favourite beverage.

You want both, but you can't smash your face into the ice cream AND chug the mug at the same time, and saying you can is shit.

So which one is it?
