Thank you. I needed that. I have been on the phone all morning with AT%T to cancel my landline. They cannot do it, because I forgot my code AND my safety question (what is your favorite restaurant - 15 years ago... hmmm... it is probably gone LOL). Now I got to drive 50 miles to 'restore my account' so I can cancel it. Logical, right? Yes I will survive this, too.
A long time friend of mine living in West Hollywood hasn’t had phone service or internet for almost two weeks after some accident on Sunset Blvd. He said he tried to cancel them and ran into similar issues! What the heck?
thank you for mentioning this. I felt kinda stupid at first - but who remembers a restaurant from 15 years back! I thought the safe question was my mother's maiden name, which no one around here knows. Worst is, in the place where I live, there is nothing but ATT and another, even more doubtful service! 2 years ago, they accidentally cut off my service for 11 days, someone unhooked my line in the box. I wrote an angry letter that I paid a full month and only got 2/3 of a month's service. No reply. Customer service is something no one knows anymore ! (I am old enough to remember how stores would give you a Christmas present!)
I'm really sorry you have to travel so far just to cancel that service. It's disappointing that you don't have more options available.
We used to have a landline until about 15 years ago when we switched exclusively to cell phones. Here’s what happened with AT&T: we live in a rural area, and our nearest neighbor is about two miles away. There's a service box for about five homes along this route. With AT&T, our landline was plagued by static and garbled conversations. Whenever we called to report it, they'd send someone out, who would claim the problem was inside our house, charging us around $100 to fix it. It would work for about three months, then the same issues would arise.
A friend gave us a device to help determine whether the issue was inside or outside our home. When the problem was outside, we didn’t mention the device because of course because we wanted to bust them lying. The technician came out and again said it was inside the house, but we used our device to prove him wrong. They backtracked on their story, but fixed it after giving themselves an excuse for lying.
We soon discovered they were going to the service box and instead of fixing the lines, they were swapping them out. This would leave some lines broken and garbled, and then they would go to those homes with the same excuse about problems being inside. They were just making money at the expense of their customers. I don't think anyone around here still has a landline; it honestly is a scam!
some late friends had the same problem, their connection was beneath the water line. You can imagine every time it rained their line was under water.
So far I had few problems and both times someone came out, I wondered how such marvellous technicians could work for such a lousy company!
Unfortunately the only available company here has an even worse rate than ATT. Hard to believe. They are also more expensive and are on 2 year contracts. Break contract cost you 400 bucks. Might just go to the library again! free and reliable.
We had our Internet connected to hughes.net which was just a horrible company for several years. And it was like a $400 fee to get out of our contract. But then we busted them throttling our service and they let us out early. Throttling is against the law. We are very blessed to have a company called OACy’s. Some local Internet genius started the company. And they absolute the best.
that is the one - Hughes. Verizon is starting this month with fiber internet, and I found 2 that might work, but with satellite. Not a fan but better than nothing.
You definitely can out grow people! Humans do not stand still and become static. Those that do will become frozen. The world doesn't stand still so why should the individual? Many people stand still to appease their surroundings which can lead to pent up frustrations.

I hope your new service works better!

Perfection! Thank you. Just what I needed to hear today. 💖🙏🏼
Love this, permission to outgrow, no guilt, acceptance, gratitude and love. 💕

Ahh, Ms. Demi thank you for carrying the meme torch and staying in the fight. Yes, it's Ratio. Hope you've been well.
Hey, man! Great to hear from you!! How have you been? :)
I am doing much better. And thank you for asking. Had to get my spiritual life in order, stop worshiping idols, submit.
What have I missed around here?
Everything. Nothing. In the course of things, it's probably the same old, same old. :)
Time for a little fearless optimism, enthusiasm and and doing some of the things you look over your shoulder wondering if you should.
So, it's Wednesday. Let's get back to it! LOL!
Indeed.
