"Don't stay where you are tolerated, go where you are celebrated"
This reminds me of when I first heard that "freedom is the new rich" or something like that.
I had been disconnected from social media and pretty much any kind of mainstream media (save for occasional movies) for at least a year.
I was also living as a digital nomad. It was kind of funny that I suddenly realized I (living very frugally) was "the new rich".
But my day job is marketing for B2B tech, so, I deal with pletny of actually rich people. And I can see it's true.
I see and feel and often have to deal with their envy.
They have stressful lives, they've been trying so hard to keep the lie alive, that they're checking all the boxes and living the American dream and really... they want to escape the madness... like I did.
So, my point here is that I think your meme perfectly captures the next iteration.
When the world is oppressive, freedom becomes more precious, sure.
But freedom also has a function, a purpose. It can make us content in itself, but it also allows us to do and pursue what we find meaningful.
I think a lot of the digital nomad and living free as the new rich was about escaping a world that doesn't serve us... and finding our tribe.
Now that the dust has settled on that idea, I think most of us who took the leap were disappointed. If you thought you found your tribe, they probably revealed themselves, pretty fast, to be a bunch of flakey drama-loving assholes.
I barely dipped my toe in and saw more than enough of that.
Now, I've been living in a way that's as low-stress and low-drama as possible so I can work on what's meaningful to me. It's not bad. It's the best, so far. But... I've been staying where I'm tolerated.
If I could find where I was celebrated, I'm sure to go much further faster.
Our tribe isn't sitting around waiting for us to join.
We gotta build it.
Or... get better at identifying it.
If you've read this long-winded self-indulgent comment... my question back to you is... what makes a person celebrated?
Utility?
Personality?
Values?
All of the above?
Or is it simply because they're in demand in their space?
I don't know, but I think this is the next iteration of "freedom is the new rich"
It would be different for each personality type, but some big ones would be loyalty, belonging, acceptance, and value alignment.
A sense of being able to be your truest self in company and not having to hide, shield, or somehow diminish oneself in order to fit in.
That same feeling you get around your closest friends where you feel at your core that you are loved and accepted for exactly who you are - that's ideal.
Most people spend too much time altering themselves because they think that people won't like them if they don't.
The reverse behavior is a lot more helpful.
When we each act fully ourselves, we might repel the wrong people, but the right people are that much more likely to find us.
Finding the people you align with most takes the courage to send out your purest frequency as a beacon.
The right people will find your beacon and they will be drawn right to you.
If you send out a beacon on the wrong frequency because you limit or dampen yourself down, you can't be surprised when the wrong people show up in response to the wrong frequency.
Don't broadcast on the wrong station and you won't draw the wrong people to you.
Ooooh—I love this.
I tell my ex “Go where you are loved,” in her work. She’s a Leo. She needs radiant sun of good people and energy.
She still has my love.
This was us—

It says it's not available. She might have it set to private. But I love the sentiment! <3
I think it could be set to private!
THANK YOU for sharing your gifts with us ❣️
Of course! Sending my love!! <3
I cannot tell you how much I loved these! Even when you are old like me, you never stop needing to feel better in your soul.
Sending my love!! 🙏🏻💜💫

Thanks for the insight. Still learning to adjust my radio signal.
The 'Dear deep feeler' one got me. As a musician 'coming out' as a dissident lyricist it was helpful to read. Thank you

I would but most people don't celebrate the idea of a Planetary Rent Strike.
Or an end to rent period and love helping extort each other for permission to share a planet NONE of us actually own through capitalism.
Thanks! 🙏🏻💜💫
