I found a to do list in my journal from 2021 the other day. Almost all things have come true. They seemed impossible at the time but circumstances rearranged themselves.
There is a very old saying among my people: smofs make lists. If you have ever been involved in the operations behind the curtain of a science fiction convention, you should be aware that a smof is a "secret master of fandom." It is the smofs who engage with the madness of even thinking about having a convention (which, by tradition, is known as a con) and inviting film stars, authors, dealers, costumers, fanfic writers, and space entrepreneurs to attend, be paid, sign autographs, read readings, exhibit wares, buy, sell, dance, sing, paint the vision of the future on the walls metaphorically and in some cases literally ("Stop spraypainting the halls Jerry! The hotel has a contract with us! Only union painters ffs!") and eat food in the green room. From opening ceremony to dead dog party a con lives and breathes, is fun or fails, because smofs make it happen. And smofs do so by making lists, crossing off items, and making new lists until it is time to crash in the back of the film room. Wake up and make another list. Put coffee on that list.
In debate we were trained to take notes of the arguments from other people. I can take notes by keyboard or by hand even when the speaker goes more than 120 words a minute. Very few people do.
What you say about handwriting is true. I remember what I write out by hand much better than what I type. It's no contest with voice notes. Something about the eyes, the hand, and the brain all working in concert to put a set of ideas on paper is completely focusing. Helps.
Thank you for this topic and thank you to the memester for the powerful inspiring meme. Blessings all around.
A smof sounds like a producer on a film. I don't type that fast. My mother does, but she also uses stenography characters with my aunt to cheat at Pictionary. I am much likelier to remember what I wrote than what I typed. And coffee goes on every list. :)
Some are mundane and some are not. If you get away from it all far enough you find a way home. There's always something to drink in the green room. But is it good to drink?
I really love this idea. It makes me feel totally different about my items on my to-do list that don't get completed today, or yesterday, for that matter. I am still setting my intention when I carry them over, and this is putting it out to the universe to draw in the energy, tools, people etc. that I need to complete the task. I feel so much better now. Thank you. 😊
I even found a calendar on Amazon that sets it up on a weekly basis.
One thing: I write my daily list in pencil, then if I don’t get an item crossed off, I erase it and move it to the next day. This eliminates beating myself up for not getting it done.
Since some of my activities are done outside, I look up the weather for the week then pencil in the daily "rain" or "sun" forecast.
Mood follows action, and… it’s cumulative! We get a little energetic (and dopamine) hit when we check those boxes, which then directly feeds motivation and momentum. This is all internal, of course, but the external power of turning intention into reality, through the physical incantation of writing, SO SO powerful!!
I really love how you’re examining the long haul here… those drowning, leaden goals left behind in favor of the shiny new ones. When we revisit, we recommit. And SUPER love the idea of the ‘living document.’
I was one of those people walking around with a daily planner! I still keep one. It’s how I reference myself in relation to time in the year. Thank you Demi!
I have experienced what Demi writes about the Universe helping manifest one's intentions years before joining Substack and reading this article. She speaks the truth. Learn from her and prosper.

It's a little like the producer gig except the film has a budget to pay the producers. And they sometimes get paid, too.
May the SMOFs be with you. I haven't heard that term in a long time, since I gafiated, but I used to be sort of one of them.

I write my to- do lists in pink because it makes it look happier and so less stressful 🤷♀️😂
That sounds so cheerful! Better for manifestation to be in a positive energy too!! 🙏🏻💜💫
Great idea.

You are so welcome, Anaria!! ☺️🙏🏻💜💫
This procedure totally works!

Thank you so much, Bree! Sending my love! 🙏🏻💜💫
Rightbackatcha, Demi! Spooning up and savoring your work. 🧡✨
As a chronic disorganized / forgetful person, this gives me renewed reason to make that to do list for even the daily mundane. Thanks, Demi!
It will make it sooo much easier - you'll see. And it won't feel like drudgery. It will feel like writing to Santa Claus. 🤣☺️🙏🏻💜💫
Writing to Santa, that would be awesome! Thank you, Demi!
My pleasure!! ❤️
Very powerful. Thank you for stewarding the manifestation mindset, D.
Thank you, Molly!! ☺️🙏🏻💜💫
You took the request right out of my mind and created a beautiful, simple and detailed answer,
THANK YOU 🙏🏼
Happy to help, Eva!! <3
