Description
"Immerse yourself in a captivating journey through the enigmatic realm of ancient mysteries and imperial spirituality with "Mysteries of Mithras and the Emperor." Published by AutarkyPress, this thought-provoking audiobook delves into the profound essays penned by the renowned philosopher Julius Evola, offering a deep exploration of the Mithraic cult and its influence on the Roman Empire's spiritual landscape. In this audiobook, listeners will uncover the hidden wisdom and arcane rituals of Mithras, the god of heavenly light and the sworn adversary of falsehood. Evola's meticulous research illuminates the intricate details of Mithraic initiation, a practice that rivaled early Christianity for spiritual supremacy during the waning years of the Roman Empire. With Evola's characteristic insight, the first and third essays bring to life the symbols and mysteries that animated the myth of Mithras, revealing a world rich with esoteric meaning. The second essay transports us to the realm of the Roman Emperor Julian, a noble figure who embraced the Mithraic cult in his quest to revive the ancient sacred traditions of his empire. Evola's masterful exploration of Julian's journey provides a unique perspective on the intersection of imperial power and spiritual pursuits, shedding light on a lesser-known facet of Roman history. As you listen to this audiobook, you'll be transported through time, guided by Julius Evola's eloquent prose and profound insights. His essays, originally published in the early 20th century and skillfully curated in this collection, continue to resonate with those who seek to understand the spiritual doctrines of antiquity. The very emblem of the Julius Evola Foundation, depicting Mithras slaying the bull, speaks to the enduring relevance of these ancient mysteries in our modern world."
Carlijn Kingma. (2023). The Waterworks of Money (Part 1/2) English. YouTube.
Description
”Although money plays a key role in our lives, the workings of our monetary system are a mystery to most of us. ‘The Waterworks of Money’ by cartographer Carlijn Kingma is an attempt to demystify the world of big finance. It visualizes the flow of money through our society, its hidden power made manifest. If you see money as water, our monetary system is the irrigation system that waters the economy. The better the flow, the more prosperous society will be. Just as water makes crops thrive, so money sets the economy in motion. Or at least that’s the idea. In reality, inequality is growing in many countries and people are dealing with a ‘cost of living crisis’. Meanwhile, the progress with making our economies sustainable is stalling, and financial instability remains an ongoing threat. These problems cannot be seen in isolation from the architecture of our money system. If we truly want to tackle them, we will have to address the design flaws of our current money system. Exhibitions: 'The Waterworks of Money' at Rijksmuseum Twenthe 16 October 2022 - 29 January 2023. 'The Future of Money' at Kunstmuseum Den Haag, 14 April, 2023 - 8 September 2023. 'Plumbing The System' at the Dutch Pavilion of the Venice Biennale, 20 May 2023 - 26 November 2023 The second animation video of this series will be released on 21 October 2023. The Waterworks of Money is a collaboration of cartographer Carlijn Kingma, investigative financial journalist Thomas Bollen, and professor New Finance Martijn van der Linden. Kingma spent 2300 drawing hours, based on in-depth research and interviews with more than 100 experts –ranging from central bank governors and board members of pension funds and banks to politicians and monetary activists. The structure of our monetary system is not a natural phenomenon. We can choose to change its architecture. Designing the money system– and the laws and institutions that govern it–is ultimately a democratic task, and not a commercial or technocratic one. In practice, however, there is a major obstacle impeding the democratic process: financial illiteracy. By making finance and money needlessly complex, economists, bankers and tax specialists have turned most of us into ‘financial illiterates’. Everyone who doesn’t speak their financial jargon is excluded from the democratic debate on how our monetary system should work. The Waterworks of Money bypasses the financial jargon. It is an attempt to boost systemic financial literacy. Only if ordinary citizens develop their own vocabulary to participate in the debate about their financial future, can they tell their politicians which kind of ‘financial irrigation system’ they want."
Carlijn Kingma. (2023). The Waterworks of Money: private profits, public costs. YouTube.
Description
"In this video we explore The Waterworks of Money, a metaphorical representation of our money system. We look at how new money is created, see where our pension savings end up, and discover how this system is boosting inequality in various ways. While the costs of keeping the financial system up and running are borne by society, most profits that arise from it are not. Instead, those end up in the pockets of a small group of large multinationals and their shareholders, at the expense of everyone else. The Waterworks of Money was exhibited in Rijksmuseum Twenthe and Kunstmuseum Den Haag, and reproductions are currently on display at the Architecture Biennale in Venice and the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven. In October 2023, this work of art received the Amsterdam Art Prize and the Dutch Design Award in the category Design Research. We created the Waterworks of Money as an artistic attempt to demystify the financial world and boost ‘systemic financial literacy’. Growing inequality, the slow progress in making our economy sustainable, and recurring financial crises cannot be seen in isolation: they are intricately connected to the structure of our financial and monetary system. Can we redesign the architecture of the waterworks of money and achieve a different outcome? In the video we’ll show that the design flaws causing instability in our financial system have not been fundamentally addressed in or after the credit crisis of 2008. Some of the measures taken by our governments and central banks have actually created new incentives for excessive risk taking and exacerbated inequality within society. The response to the crisis has also boosted a new kind of ‘asset manager capitalism’. Asset management firms like BlackRock and Vanguard have grown into major power players. They are responsible for investing our pension savings and control trillions of dollars in assets. Just like the banks before them, they are now ‘too big to fail’. Who actually benefits from this system? In our journey we also explore new monetary channels and policy options that haven’t been used in the past decade, but could be deployed in the future to make major improvements to the system as a whole. Could the introduction of a digital euro or dollar – also called Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) – improve financial stability and make the monetary system more equitable? The structure of our monetary system is not a natural phenomenon. We can choose to change its architecture, but only if ordinary citizens develop their own vocabulary to participate in the debate, can they tell their politicians which kind of ‘financial irrigation system’ they want."

Description
"Howdy ya’ll. Today we will cover a magnificent tale spanning from The Knights Templar through the invention of lighter than air travel. This story will involve magnets, the physics of nature, dirigibles, a phoenix flying through the skies over 315 years ago, and the only surviving record of it coming from the archives of the Order of Christ. This is a fraternal, often secretive organization, itself a surviving offshoot of the Knights Templar, who were persecuted, disbanded, and stripped of their lands on Friday October 13th, 1307. Could the radical airship of 1709, with information rediscovered in 1786, be a remnant of an even earlier advanced civilization, one which could have been well known by the crusaders of the Knights Templar, and may have been one of the nefarious reasons for their downfall?"
