When streetlight bulbs get old they naturally start going off for a few minutes at a time, and do so incresingly frequently until they fail completely. I've heard numerous people remark that a person was "doing it", but there is no correlation with any human. They just do it like "clockwork" all by themselves. However, smaller and more sensitive electronics are probably another matter altogether.

I did some research on this a while ago. I used to break phones every shift at my telemarketing job. I’m a musician and noticed that there were a lot of instances where analog gear acted funny around me. It’s also referred to as the Pauli effect: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pauli_effect

I hadn't thought about this phenomena for a long, long time, and I didn't know there was a word for it. I used to slow quartz movement watches at a rate of about five minutes per hour, so I never got into the habit of wearing watches at all. My father could not wear a watch for the same reason. He was an engineer, and attributed it to some kind of magnetic field. We both found it amusing. I've also had the streetlight thing happen, though I don't live in an area that has a lot of them so I don't know if it was just coincidences. I don't know if I have more trouble with electronics than anyone else, but maybe I do. Never had anything as dramatic as the stories in this article though.

It doesn't happen to me but it seems to happen to a great deal of the people I know. More than I thought too. So many people have stories about this! How can we consider this to be rare at all?!?! 🤣

Watches and fitbits quickly die when I wear them. Always have. My wife thought my pocket watch was for show when we met. When I explained it to her, she searched the internet and found other people discussing the phenomenon, which I usually kept to myself. I still don't know if I believe all the stories, and some of that is likely that people do often make up tales for attention that involve mystery and drama. I would need to see disrupted street lights in person no matter how many watches I've been through. Not knowing the mechanism should always encourage our skeptical side.

Demi, Would you be interested in discussing this topic and "weird edge case science" and problems of scientism on the RTE podcast with me?

I have wondered for years why this has happened with me. I didn’t read the whole article yet as I didn’t have time. I have a question for sliders. Are you noticing that you seem to be the only one in your family feeling highly affected by the 5G? I can literally feel like it pulls on my head. I have been trying to wear faraday stuff and use it and it seems to help, but can get very expensive…my family, although believes me, aren’t understanding it as they don’t feel these things. I’m just wondering if the rest are feeling the same and wonder if it is even more dangerous to them. I have not gotten a 5G phone but know they are all pretty bad, I cannot hold my phone very long anymore and keep a faraday cloth on it when I sleep and keep it away from me as much as possible.

I believe that one possible cause of Electromagnetic interference is an inversion of the cell membrane potential, which is not a good thing, and those affected will find peace when the membrane is restored.

Very interesting article, and push to research this field. We do have influence in the electromagnetic world, that's for sure. As the electromagnetic field also affects us :-(

Something funny often happens to me and came to mind as I read this post:

I have a bathroom in my office, and it has some old incandescence lamps and one LED light that all turn on with the same switch. And it happens that every time my mind is overloaded with thoughts (very often), and I turn on the switch, the LED lamp does not turn on. :-) . And I always said to myself, Sure, it is obvious that you won't turn on. Thanks for telling me I'm too charged!

When I'm calm, this does not happen, and the LED light works fine.

I use it as a sensor that tells me you need to calm down :-/

Anyway, from my childhood, with electronics, I had the opposite effect: I fixed almost every electronic device I touched. I had no idea why, but something I touched, moved, or who knows... And I fixed it.

Today I'm a telecommunications engineer, but I've always worked with electronics since I have 10, so have a special relation with hardware electronics...

Xoxo !

Thank you! Wow - that's amazing - so it might work in the opposite way as well! How cool!!

This is odd.... Brendan Murphy's Truthiverse Substack just ran an article that could be a companion to this one. I just got it in my inbox.

I’m going to make a video of the, well I’ll just let you decide. It will not prove or disprove just odd things that I figure everyone must deal with but then maybe not.
