So few are aware of the danger, how often must we be lured into enslavement by the promise of convenience? I don't expect many will take the extreme measures I took twenty five years ago to live without a bank account and go strictly cash, barter, precious metal and crypto currencies, and remove personally identifying information as far as possible, but the steps you outline are important for anyone who desires greater individual sovereignty.

People were forced to turn in all their gold in the past and even now you can't practically use it as legal tender. How many shops can't/won't even accept cash anymore? Plenty. Land can be seized in many different ways from eminent domain to tax disputes. Personal property? Same - you are charged with a crime, property is taken (especially cash, pew-pews, jewelry, etc) and it is never returned, even if you were innocent.

I agree with you mostly, first because even cash is phantom wealth as much as digital anything (yes, even BTC) and stocks etc. Gold is not a currency historically; the uber-rich buy it in the good times so that when the currency is replaced, often with a new King, they sell it into the new money then buy everything at fire sale prices, they will have supply while land and business owners make demand. Still, real wealth is healthy relationships, communities and Nature; which is my next point. Using cash, not "just" holding it under the mattress, starves the banks from their vigorish... The cream (typically 3-5%) they skim from every transaction they "process". Cash leaves that with the retailer instead helping them maintain or increase payroll. Bonus points if you use cash at a locally owned establishment because then it will be largely recirculated in your community instead of Bentonville or Seattle or NYC.

Along with that have been the public discussions & implementations of Dr's "prescribing" food, such as veges or fresh produce. here is the kicker, what if you want an extra piece of meat that is on sale or a fruit/vegetable not on your prescription?
